An offer to host things for your friends
Plus, how the course changed this year
Hey all,
This years' version of the course has been rapidly improving. We're doing a good job!
So, it's time to celebrate! 🎉. I believe it's finally ready for its audience: the founders and community architects who'll build the meaning economy. As part of that, I want to offer you alumni something, since you got a much shittier version of the course.
First, here are the changes, just from this year.
🗺️ It's now highly-personalized. We make a complete plan for every student on their first day, customized for their project, breaking down course completion, hour-by-hour. And each student gets a personal guide.
⏱️ It takes less time. That, plus leaps forward in our methods (especially VETing and Hard Steps) means we're close to our target, a 3 month course.
🌐 Non-esoteric website. We have a new landing page with a call to create the meaning economy.
💎 Networking is Built-In. The course now culminates in getting each student’s best design ideas in from of related experts, and facilitating conversations on podcasts, etc.
🧝♂️ Improved Facilitation. Anne Selke now artfully oversees kickoffs and intro events, to ensure they run as smoothly and lovingly as possible. (The guides take it from there, and I have office hours each week.)
Now, most of you took the version of the course that costs between $140 and $280, more than two years ago. It had some fun games, but didn't really teach what we teach now.
I feel bad that so many good people took a rough version of the course. For that reason, we'll host a space jam or meaning potluck for any alumni who want to gather some friends for it.
I would also appreciate it if you tell your friends about the new course. You might have some hesitation—the course has changed completely. What the hell is it made of now? One thing you could do is check it out with a friend: we have free design inquiry sessions. A quick call where we analyze your friend's project and make suggestions. You can come along.
Hope to see you each, one way or another.
❤️,
—Joe
